I'm so glad to have you visit our
classroom website. It has been a personal goal of mine to accomplish
this for awhile. Thanks to my friend, Dawn Stubbs, I am now able
to make use of
technology.
For those of you
who don't know me, I am from this area. I taught for the part of
my career in
kindergarten at Cherryfield Elementary. After eleven years, I
felt I was ready for
a change and
was fortunate to get a position in Grade 4 at Harrington Elementary School.
I received my
education at Narraguagus High School where I graduated in 1978.
After high school, I
worked at variousjobs, got married and became a mother. I
returned to school in
1986 to
start working towards a degree in education. I received my
teacher training at
the
University of Maine at Machias and graduated in 1992. I also
trained in Reading
Recovery
and received a certificate in 1994. I am currently working on my Master's Degree
in Literacy through the University of New England and will complete the program in
December 2009.
I enjoy learning
and working with children. My hobbies include: reading,
boating, cooking,
football,
basketball, sports, politics and family.
I am married,
have two grown sons who both attended Harrington Elementary School and
have three pets at home.
I also have two beautiful grandsons that make my life complete.
I have been at
Harrington Elementary School for four years and really enjoy teaching grade four.
I like to think that my classroom is a safe place to be where great
learning takes place.
